When Greta Thunberg appeared on the cover of Time as their ‘Person of the Year’ many in Trump Nation were upset to see it; outraged even. We knew that President Trump had fully earned the honor through his achievements for America – and really for the world – and that in reality, nobody else even came close. We voiced our disappointment and bitterness.
But the President then explained that he had humbly turned down the position and suddenly everything came into focus. Liberals all over the country, of course, didn’t believe him, just as they cast doubt over everything he says. But now Joseph Barron, Editor-In-Chief of Time, has come forward to tell the world that, yes indeed, Trump did turn him down, forcing the publication to go with its second choice.
“Of course President Trump was our top pick. His term thus far has been legendary. He’s been described as ‘the greatest president ever.’ It was his own description, but still. Great economy, more equality, and world peace just around the corner. Person of the Year is just one of many sentences coming his way.
We were very disappointed when he turned us down but his reason was heartwarming. He asked us to award the title to someone else, someone young, who was making a difference in order to encourage them to continue on, adding that being President of the greatest country in the world is honor enough for him.”
Our President may be the most humble and generous President that America has ever seen. We should thank the heavens everyday that we have him leading us.
