Pelosi Launches Court Challenge to Reverse Trump’s State of Emergency

Even if it’s the best thing for America, Nancy Pelosi, and the Democrat Party will fight against it if it’s what President Trump wants. They’re like spoiled children who only want their way, regardless of who it hurts. Their rule of thumb is — if Trump wants it, they will do everything in their power to stop it. It’s ridiculous.

Their latest attempt at thwarting the President’s plans begins today with a court challenge of Trump’s Declaration of a State of Emergency. Speaker Pelosi has filed the papers needed to legally reverse the White House order using an obscure constitutional clause that allows the House of Representatives to have a vote of no confidence in the President’s ability to lead under emergency circumstances… if the vote is allowed by a federal court.

Should the House be granted the vote and it goes against the President, the powers normally in the commander-in-chief’s hands in such a circumstance will transfer to a bipartisan Congressional Committee. The President would effectively be left on the sidelines while others run the country for the duration of the national emergency.

Attorney for the Democrats, Sandy Batt, outlined the case that they intend to present to the court:

“Basically we’ll show all of our impeachment evidence all over again. Stuff we used before and a whole bunch of new stuff. Trump is self-serving. He’s using his office to enrich himself and his family. He committed treason by having Russia interfere with our elections. He endangered the lives of millions of Americans with his delayed response to this virus. Basically what we’re saying is he’s in it for himself and to put emergency powers into his hands would be a path to totalitarianism.“

This is pure desperation on the part of the Democrats and a power grab. They control the House and that is where emergency powers would go should they win this case. This cannot be allowed to happen.
