This fourth of July marked the 309th mass shooting of this year, and the feds in the FBI have finally had enough.
“We’ve been saying for some time that the biggest threat to American national security is small hate groups and homegrown terrorism,” says Federal Agent Joe Konders. “And this last one in Highland Park is the last straw. We’re going to begin checking in with every Republican with a firearm.”
Mass shooters in the United States have classically always been overwhelmingly Republican in nature, belonging to splinter militia groups like “The 3%ers” and “Let’s Kill All the Non Whites.” The reasons for this are many and varied.
“The right wing has always had problems with extreme murderers,” opines social justice warrior Melissa Southard. “The racists all migrate to the right. They love Trump. They love religion and guns. It’s about time we just cut through the bullshit and started taking a hard look.”
Many detractors blame these shootings on mental illness. Many more, however, see the right wing’s splintered non-sensical and borderline maniacal ideology as that illness. One can’t be against abortion and then for capital punishment and child labor at the same time.
Highland Park represents yet another instance of a firearm tragedy linked to explicitly Republican ideology, whether or not the evildoer was specifically a Trumper or not.
He was exposed, heard about nonsense like Joe Biden, possibly the most serene and controlled President ever, being a country-destroying demon. That, people, is mental illness in a nutshell.
