Tucker Carlson made a huge mistake when he penned an op-ed for The Daily Caller asking Trump to resign so he doesn’t get impeached and questioning his patriotism. Carlson, who has been very supportive of the President and often makes great excuses for his crimes, wasn’t so forgiving when it came to Ukraine:
“The President should not have done what he did. He may need to step down to avoid impeachment. At this point, he’s a total embarrasment to the party and we will lose badly if he stays.”
Carlson’s words weren’t appreciated at Fox News. Director of programming, Art Tubolls, says the decision to suspend him didn’t come lightly:
“Tucker made a mistake and he knows it. His suspension will last one week, during which time he’ll need to get a letter from the President stating that he has confidence that he won’t do it again. Fox News is devoted to being kind and compassionate in these difficult times, and while we don’t want to squelch anyone’s opinion, we felt the need to put a stop to Tucker’s for his own good.”
Carlson has issued a formal apology and will accept his punishment with open arms:
“I am deeply sorry for questioning President Trump’s judgment and look forward to spending the next week atoning for my sins. I only hope he can truly forgive me.”
The White House Director of Information and Propaganda, Gerald DeTater, says Carlson was caught up in the moment:
“Tucker has always been a great friend to the President and we expect that to continue. His job for the next week will be to do the lunch runs and sit in on the National Security meetings to see how things really work around here. Once he hears the classified info the President gets, he’ll be able to understand and better serve the American public as a news man.“
The suspension will end next week.
