CMT, aka Country Music Television once was one of the most watched television channels in the country. It was also highly profitable, but recent events have made viewership plummet and its value decline drastically.
From attempting to cancel Morgan Wallen, canceling Dukes Of Hazzard to pulling the mega hit “Try That In A Small Town” by country music superstar Jason Aldean, the once proud country music television channel is seeing what it’s like to be Bud Light. And they don’t like it, and it’s too late to bring fans back.
CMT’s Chief Financial Officer Joseph Barron in an interview had serious doubts about the channel being able to pull out of this. “We’re feeling the Bud Light effect. We’ve never seen numbers this low, advertisers are pulling out, fans are leaving in droves, this is unsustainable to continue to stay profitable”
CFO Barron’s statements about pulling out of this slump are not surprising since most of their fan base has problems with pulling out of sisters, cousins, farm animals, a grapefruit, and so on. Maybe pulling out isn’t the term he should be looking for.
With CMT’s ratings in the dumper, which oddly enough had the CMT fans stuck things so their wouldn’t be all of these troglodytes wearing MAGA caps repeating stupid bullshit all day long, the channel is wondering where to go next.
Going woke has certainly made them go broke. Now they’re playing a gay love song music video on heavy rotation, really turning off some fans in public while they’re secretly on men for men dating apps isn’t helping.
If only they’d stuck to what their fans wanted, talentless bro country waving flags and women wearing way too much make up singing love songs to their favorite brother, this wouldn’t have happened. God bless America.
