Black America loves Donald Trump. Never before has a Republican president had such overwhelming support from this segment of society. They recognize the good he does and they want more.

Jerome Sharpton, son of the Reverend Al Sharpton, has come out in favour of President Trump and his proven record with the African-American community. Rightfully so as well, what with Trump’s job creation and overall support for minorities.

Sharpton wishes to honor him in a way that is befitting of his greatness. He is starting a grassroots campaign to have a holiday named after President Trump, much as Martin Luther king Jr has already. He gave his reasons why:

“Donald Jupiter Trump has done more for civil rights in his three years in the White House, and his civilian life before, then Martin Luther King ever did. His record speaks for itself.

Trump has given housing to the black community. He has created record low unemployment for all people. He has raised us up.

Just half a decade ago many feared and despised us, dismissed as criminals and drug dealers. Now people don’t see us just that way. They see Mexicans that way instead.

Dr. King couldn’t do that in all his years. In King’s time, there were still lynchings, efforts to prevent us from voting, segregation, and stuff like that. None of that happens now under Trump.

This should be recognized with a holiday in his honor. My vote says to rename ‘MLK Day’ as ‘DJT Day.’ It’s an idea whose time has come.”

Jerome Sharpton makes some valid points. It seems logical to honour those who have succeeded instead of those who failed.
