Political correctness has gone crazy in this country recently. We’ve all seen it. Statues are coming down, flags are being banned, even certain words and phrases are being eliminated from our vocabulary by the social justice warriors of America.
Sports, too, have been affected. Several professional teams in various sports are changing their names to appease the leftist censors.
Already, the Cleveland Indians are ridding themselves of their long time name and logo, and now the same has been announced for the Washington Redskins of the NFL.
Though the unofficial announcement has not yet been made, information on the new look of the Washington team has been leaked to our reporters. It looks as though the team in the nation’s capital has decided to pander to the whining forces who demanded the name change in the first place. BLM is getting its way.
The new name of the team will be the Washington Black Panthers, with the logo featuring a fierce animal in black over a silver helmet. It is the most horrible thing we have ever seen. It has no meaning for the Washington area, it lacks the honor that the name Redskins had, and, worst of all, it pays homage to a terrorist group.
Team mascot, Joe Barron, is also quite displeased about the change. He shared his thoughts:
“Their new mascot costume is terrible! It’s actually a two-man costume. One in the front mans the front legs and the head and one in the back who mans the rear legs and the tail. If I’m in the front, somebody is going to have their head up my ass and if i’m in the back I will have to put my head up somebody else’s ass.
I am a professional mascot, damnit! This is demeaning and below a man of my stature. I’ll still do it, for I am dedicated. I will endure for the good of America. I will soldier on. I just hope that the public knows the sacrifice I am making.”
The Washington team under the new banner will begin to play next season. Several players have also expressed their displeasure and have requested trades. They find this name to be anti-American.
We’ll see if the change sticks. Adjustments may still be forthcoming.
THEY SHOULD BE NO BLACK IN ANY NAME, WE ARE TOLD WE CAN NOT HAVE RACIST NAMES. THIS IS WHY NO BODY WATCHES SPORT ANY MORE. DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD NO BLACKS ON TV OR IN TEAMS AND THERE WAS NO RACISM, AND IT IS ONLY A PROBLEM NOW.
