A grassroots campaign started by Trump supporters has just broken the world record for most bills of currency defaced in a single day. Volunteers in more than 2 dozen counties worked feverishly to mark the back of each bill with “Trump” and an arrow pointing to each 20, turning the US Treasury into one giant campaign ad for the greatest president ever.
Critics of the president were quick to point out that defacing a bill is a crime, and defacing a $20 bill a felony. Under USC Title 42 Section 108 SS 12, they’re technically right, but the loophole in the law says that the defacement must come with the intent to destroy the bill, whereas Trump supporters know they’re making them more valuable.
Teams of support crew made their way to and from banks for most of the day, trading the bills in at the bank for clean ones and bring them back to the art teams. The event coordinator, Trump Campaign Manager Art Tubolls, says it went off without a hitch:
‘Everyone did what they were supposed to do, and at the end of the day, we added the “Trump 2020″ slogan to a million pieces of paper that will circulate for a long time to come.”
The accomplishment beats any other money stamping ventures ever and has been applauded by the White House as a “huge accomplishment. If you live in the US, you can request the special Trump 2020 bills when you cash your next check.
A spokesman for the movement says the initial money to get started was provided by local Trump supporters, who waited in line all morning at Walmart to cash their welfare checks to pitch in. They were given their money back plus a coupon for some of that good Walmart chicken.
The Treasury Department said it won’t bother pursuing charges, but the stunt will cost the taxpayers in the end, who cover the cost of printing the cash to replace defaced bills. A spokesman from every bank confirmed that each and every marked bill that came in was dumped in a bin for disposal.
But still, it probably felt good to get it done. That’s Trump’s America, folks!
