How could anyone oppose a bill that opposes cruelty to our family pets? Who would be against protections for our furry family friends – our dogs and our cats, our best friends? Apparently, thousands of Democrat voters nationwide would, that’s who.
President Trump’s new law against the mistreatment of animals received unanimous bipartisan support in Congress but now many of the democrat members are changing their minds after hearing outrage from their constituents. It seems that Democrat voters don’t want to be told what to do with what they call “their possessions” and are quite angry that those they elected passed the controlling bill. As a result, many congressional Dems, like Nancy Pelosi, are reneging and pushing to repeal the law.
California resident in Pelosi’s district, Joe B, shared his dismay at this new law:
“Government cannot tell us what to do with our own possessions. If I have a dog or a cat or whatever, it belongs to me. This is clear government overreach. I voted against Pelosi, to avoid crap like this. Just as the Feds can’t prevent me from crushing my car or taking a wrecking ball to my house if I choose to, nor can they tell me how to treat my pets. They belong to me. I paid for them. I own them. They are mine to do with as I see fit.
If I want to place my mutt in a fight, I should be able to. If I want to use my own means to discipline them, it’s my right. If I want that mongrel to take care of any needs, I will. She belongs to me.”
This is the Democrat attitude. It’s said that how one treats their pets is a reflection of how they treat people. Read Joe’s words. No living being should be treated that way.
