In a meeting today with fellow Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he plans to initiate impeachment proceedings on day one if Bernie Sanders is elected. He went on to explain:
“Bernie Sanders is a threat to our oligarchy and he must be immediately removed should he become President. We will have witnesses come and testify that he has done terrible things. We will leave no stone unturned in this investigation.
“It is the sworn duty of Congress to keep the Executive Branch in check and that is exactly what we will do.
“This will not be a partisan witch-hunt impeachment over verifiable abuses of power like the Democrats had against President Trump. This one will be based on fact. And the fact of the matter is that Bernie Sanders is a communist and that goes against the Constitution and isn’t allowed in the Oval Office.”
This is good news for Trump voters. This means that even if Trump loses, they still win. In fact, many Republicans are calling on voters to vote for Bernie just so he can win and be impeached as revenge for what Democrats unfairly did to President Trump. One such voter said it best:
“I love Trump and I hate that commie Bernie, but I will be voting for Bernie Sanders just so I will get the satisfaction of seeing him impeached and removed from office. I think that would be the best revenge, doing to them what they tried to do to us, but being successful at it.”
This would certainly be an interesting twist on the election. Many Republicans would love to see a communist removed from office. There is now a good chance it may indeed happen.
