President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, is incredibly skilled at her job, and that prowess has brought her many adoring fans among Trump’s base. It has also brought her the coveted 2020 O’Brien Award.
The O’Brien Award has never been bestowed upon a more deserving recipient. When reached for comment, Ms. McAdoodledoo gushed,
“I’m so honored to receive this award. I love winning stuff! Who’s O’Brien? Doesn’t he own the Irish pub on the corner?”
No, dear, it’s not named for the bar where you get sloshed every night after work.
The highly esteemed O’Brien Award is given each year to someone with a unique skill set: the ability to lie, lie about lying, lie about Trump’s lies, and lie while calling others liars just because they’re telling the truth.
Sandy Batt, the chairwoman of the O’Brien Award Committee at the Orwell Society, explained what the award is all about. “Each year, we observe public speakers who hold positions of great power. We weed out the ones who don’t lie. We eliminate the ones who uphold the values of truth and honesty. We get rid of the decent human beings with integrity, compassion, and devotion to reality.
Then we look at which Trump toadies are left — because that’s all we’ve ended up with for four years running — and pick the one who has the worst reputation for being a lying liar. This year: Kayleigh McEnany.”
True to her award-winning form, Ms. McAwhackjob is quite busy telling lies daily about the election and how Trump is going to win after all the mythical, nonexistent voter fraud is exposed. Too bad she didn’t take the time to do a little research and find out that O’Brien is the bad guy — the master manipulator and liar — in George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984.
It fits her to a T, don’t you think?
