Wife of Texas senator Ted Cruz, Heidi Cruz has filed for divorce in Dallas, TX, citing irreconcilable differences. They were married for nearly 20 years when she filed. The Texas senator didn’t take any questions and simply said to please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time.

They married in 2001 and have two children and reside in a Dallas suburb. The marriage, thought to be a very strong and stable one, started to become troubled in 2016 when Cruz ran for President, losing the nomination to President Donald Trump. It created a rift in their marriage that has not been healed, and five years later, Heidi has moved to end their marriage.

Mrs. Cruz, unlike her husband Ted, was willing to discuss the problems in their marriage, citing Ted’s unabashed love for Donald Trump.

“In 2016, Trump bashed me. He made fun of me. It seemed like Ted took my side, but then something changed. Ted fell out of love with me, and into love with Donald Trump.”

The allegations were shocking, stunning, and didn’t seem real, until Mrs Cruz started to really open up and explain everything.

After Ted lost the nomination, he was dejected. He turned to Heidi and they worked through his loss. Heidi standing by her man through it all.

And then, Senator Cruz, according to Heidi, went off the deep end. He grew a beard because Trump suggested it, he took Trump’s side over Heidi‘s, abandoning date nights and time with the family to be around the president.

When Heidi reminded him of Trump’s bashing, Ted Cruz shushed her and told her that Trump meant more to him than she did. He walked back that statement, but it still stung.

Mrs. Cruz hired the prominent divorce attorneys Joseph Barron and Sandra Batt to represent her in the divorce while Cruz has taken Rudy Giuliani as his counsel, at the behest of President Trump. Their first meeting was at the Hilton Garden gas station in Denton, Texas, after a communication breakdown.

Mrs. Cruz is already finding ways of what she will do with her guaranteed spousal support which will leave the senator on a diet consisting of ramen and Mac and cheese.  We wish them all the best in the future.
