NASCAR has had its share of controversies in the last few years while trying to expand the brand’s fanbase. First it was Bubba Wallace. Then it was banning the confederate flag. Then it was celebrating gay pride. Now it’s taken a new turn.
One of their star drivers, Noah Gragson has been suspended indefinitely for a simple tweet. Gragson uses Twitter to keep fans up to date and to keep in touch with those fans in real time. He always shares a Bible verse and is a huge supporter of our next president.
Gragson tweeted his feelings on the BLM protests and George Floyd. And NASCAR suspended him. This is violating his first amendment rights under the constitution! Gragson is beloved by his fans and they’re understandably upset. So upset they have decided to boycott.
NASCAR spokesman Joseph Barron said in an interview that “we at NASCAR strive to be inclusive and to be welcoming to all. Mr Floyd could have been a huge NASCAR fan, and that needs to be understood by our drivers and fans”.
Several fans voiced their displeasure with this announcement. Sandy Batt of Idaho, just off a 3 day bender of cheap beer and expensive booze couldn’t believe it. “Here in Idaho, we don’t believe in that inclusive garbage. NASCAR is like country music. Free, white, and boring, and inclusive to us rednecks! And that’s it!!!!”
What is going on with these things that were OURS? Do we not matter anymore? Bud Light, CMT, and now NASCAR. It’s just not fair.
What we do know is that in several places that trump rallies are still catered to the amazingly unintelligent who think they incest is best when they put their sisters to the rest. God bless America!
