NY Gov. Cuomo Bans Confederate Flag, Calling It Hate Speech

Not content to trample on the basic civil liberties of all citizens with his tyrannical stay-at-home order, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has once again issued an un-Constitutional order. After protests last weekend in which many staunch American patriots raised the Confederate flag, Cuomo has deemed that act “hate speech” and declared it illegal in his state.

“The Confederate flag symbolizes hatred, division, and racism — which all decent New Yorkers abhor. The flag was flown by traitors who rebelled against our United States, and much like the symbols of Nazi Germany exist now only in museums and history books, it’s time for this flag to be thrown on the dust heap of history,” Cuomo said in his announcement.

The penalty for flying the Confederate flag, wearing it on clothing, putting it on a pickup as a bumper sticker (adjacent to truck nuts), or sharing it unironically as a meme on social media is a fine of up to $20,000 or four years in prison. Considering most lowlife trashy types who fly the traitor flag don’t have an extra $20K lying around, they can also opt to live in spartan “guest quarters” at the homes of rich people and do their menial chores until they’ve paid off their debt to society.

Constitutional scholar Joe Barron said that as repulsive as the Confederate flag is, flying it is protected by the First Amendment. He predicted that Cuomo’s order would be thrown out, but not until some brave, confused American traitor-patriot is willing to fly the flag, get arrested, and do some hard time while challenging the conviction.

In the meantime, New Yorkers who claim to be proud patriots but also support the traitors who took up arms against the United States of America will have to either leave their losers’ battle flag at home or risk the long arm of the law. The choice is yours.
