Football star and political activist Colin Kaepernick seems to have found a way to move around the current hamstrung situation that the NFL finds itself in and prance around in the public eye at the same time. Although he has no experience in management or matters of foodservice, Kap has announced that he’ll be opening a chain of “Poc Only” restaurants nationwide. What makes this announcement more than a back-page blurb is that “Poc” is liberal woke-speak for “people of color.”
The idea that anyone would create a business exclusive to only people of color would normally cause a firestorm of accusations and disgust, but the mainstream media hasn’t even issued a peep. Even the chain name, “Crackerless”, should be condemned as outright racist, yet, is already being called “brave” and “powerful” by several liberal-leaning media outlets.
Sandy Batt of the Holistic Organization Naming Kaepernick Imperial, claims the move has nothing to do with race, but opportunity. The H.O.N.K.I. spokeswoman gave a brief statement to Businessqueef magazine.
“What Colin is doing is opening up a door of opportunity for youth of color to compete on a more level playing field with their Caucasian counterparts. Since the clientele being allowed in also must be appropriately dark, these places will also give refuge to a class of Americans to feel comfortable and safe to discuss, plan, and contemplate their futures in a nation divided by Trump. Portions of the proceeds from all restaurants will be donated to BLM and similar organizations to give people of color a fighting chance against a rapidly color-draining white supremacy movement. Like a great man once said, ‘You are about to witness the strength of street knowledge.”
Although the enterprise is sure to carry controversy with it, the former 49-er insists he’s seen his share before, and stands ready to face all critics. I’ve heard he famously makes one hell of a chicken sandwich.
