Ten years ago, Garth Brooks started an annual Labor Day tradition: The “Country Legends” show. Every year, a dozen or more of the biggest names in the business travel to a different city and entertain country fans for more than 12 hours.
This year’s show, scheduled for Hambriston, Texas, will go on as scheduled with one major change: Garth Brooks isn’t invited.
“It was his idea, but he doesn’t own the tour,” said show manager Joe Barron, “the decision-makers don’t want the same thing to happen at this show that happened the last time.
Brooks was recently booed offstage at the 123rd Texas Country Jamboree, also hosted in Hambriston.
“Our town has gotten a lot of publicity lately, said Town Selectman Art Tubolls, “we don’t have much here, but we do have a beautiful stadium.”
Brooks refused our request for comment, telling this reporter that “it’s becoming a little bit much at this point. You guys are writing a new one of these every day now.”
Well…yeah, patriot. Here at America’s Last Line of Defense, we strive to keep nonsense in the news as long as possible. If Kid Rock isn’t gonna do something stupid, we have to focus on punishing liberals. God Bless America.
You reap what you sow. Good riddance.
Enjoy satire much?
