Former NCAA women’s swimmer and biological male Lia Thomas has reached the end of what may be the most controversial career in sports history.
The Collegiate Athletes’ Hall of Fame in South Newbury, Louisiana announced that Thomas would never be considered for induction.
“The Hall won’t recognize any of the titles, medals, or records Thomas holds, many of which have been rescinded or vacated,” said Director Joe Barron, “therefore, Thomas will never qualify for a spot in these hallowed halls.”
The CAHOF has been the centerpiece of college sports since its inception in 1822. The main exhibit gets more than 30 million visitors a year, third behind the Rock and Roll and Pro Football Halls of Fame, respectively.
Athletes inducted into the CAHOF are typically from less-popular sports, such as women’s swimming, golf, field hockey, lacrosse, softball, flag football, tennis, soccer, and most recently, pickleball. The men’s sports all have their own halls.
The announcement is good news for 5th-place tie winner Riley Gaines, who really needed something else to happen to keep her relevant since she’ll never qualify for anything ever again except for maybe a spot on OAN as the next Tomi Lahren.
Emma Weyent continued not giving a shit. God Bless America.
good news and common sense.
Replied incorrectly below; this should be correctly entered in this space:
Another poorly written post in which the author cannot keep his emotions from poking through. Perhaps reporting on something the author has interest in, because he clearly does not have respect for someone who worked her ass off for her entire life to be beaten by a fake who had no alterations to his body and insisted in changing and displaying himself openly in an all-women locker room. This author continues to get his reporting pushed onto Facebook where the Gaines Folks pick him up, and it would be my preference to see someone with a value set similar to those who support Gaines (i.e., those who do not glorify transgender atheletes entry into a sport they will dominate where they would not dominate in their own gender competition) report on this development. The claim that Riley Gaines is a “whiner,” is particularly eggregious. The writer has, apparently, not spent enough time working hard at something to be then cheated at the critical and pinnacle moment of that effort’s recognition. Perhaps a few years under the author’s belt will give him a more mature outlook on life’s challenges and the tragedies that can befall those who put herculean efforts into a skill or work of art. In the meantime, the author might hone his own skill by practicing the true art of journalism where the reader knows nothing of the author’s opinions or feelings but clearly understands the relevant facts and relationships in the story.
Great News and really should never have been an issue to begin with. Furthermore, who is Emma Weyent and why should we care what she thinks???
Is
What a snarky ‘report’! I guess this was supposed to be funny. 🤔
Newsflash…you tried too hard.
If you’re going to throw shade, please do it at the fake ‘women’ of the world and not Riley Gaines who only cares about REAL women being able to compete on a level playing field. Her relevance is assured.
Perhaps you need to go back and join dear old dad on the potato farm. At least something grows in THAT dirt.
